Guidelines
Trust
Deilogos is built upon a radical belief: virtual strangers or different backgrounds and viewpoints can come together and carry on a stimulating, civil conversation. Because anyone can join the Deilogos community and add their thoughts to the site we’ve placed an enormous amount of trust in this principle. We hope that those who choose to join Deilogos will honor the trust we’ve placed in them and choose to contribute to the site in a respectful way.
Community
Deilogos members share are an interest in religion and a desire to carry on an intelligent conversation about it. If you opt to join the site, we ask that you share this interest and have a genuine desire to be a part of the conversation. If you are joining just to make a point, to promote yourself or your website, or to pick fights with others your time would be better spent somewhere else.
Posting to Deilogos
A front page post (or thread) on Deilogos is a short piece of text that introduces a topic or question and at least one link to an article or site that helps illustrate that topic. In a word, good posts are interesting. They might be about a recent news story, an unusual find on the Web, or just something that warrants fresh thought and discussion. Front page posts work best when they maintain a neutral, journalistic tone and when they invite others to think about and share their views.
Comments
Comments — the list of responses added to the bottom of a post page — should be kept to the topic at hand and never directed toward other members. Comments that are abusive, profane, that are spam, or that are otherwise offensive will be blocked.
Comments on Deilogos are automatically filtered to help prevent the issues listed above, but members are asked to help maintain the integrity of all posts and comments on the site by contacting the site admin when problems arise.
Any member who does not follow the guidelines laid out above will be banned from the site.
